This is a story about a single mother that purchased her first home from NAVA. The mother of two
worked two jobs because she wanted to change her circumstances for the better by placing her family in
a healthier neighborhood. I had many uncles who mentored me and help shape me into the man I have
become. They inspired me to reach back and help those who are less fortunate that came from a similar
situation. By helping others, I bring honor to God, respect to my mother and add value to my life.
I wanted to help women and children who are in abusive and dysfunctional relationships, so I started
The National Fund for the Awareness of Violence Against Women and Children (NAVA Fund). Was started to
encourage others to reach beyond their circumstances and realize their full potential by focusing on
where they are going, not where they come from.
