Vehicle Donation Program

         Donating a Vehicle/RV

          Directly is Fast Easy

Donate your RV/CAR/Boat to the National Fund for the Awareness of Violence Against Women and Children (NAVA Fund) is making a difference in the lives of domestic violence victims. Your vehicle donation provides the support NAVA Fund needs to continue providing support to sexual assault  victims and low to moderate income families that are determined to build a better life. We assist families wanting to live in a safe environment and healthy  communities to utilize local support agencies. Our main objective is to guide individuals and families to a pathway to build self-esteem and confidence and at the same time leading them towards home ownership. Home ownership is the foundation of healthy communities.
We accept the following types of vehicles: cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs and heavy equipment*. Donating your vehicle to NAVA Fund is simple and does not take long. NAVA Fund does most of the work for you. While requirements vary state-by-state, in many cases only one document is required: the title to the vehicle.

The first step you must take as a donor is filling out the contact information below online. It only requires basic information about yourself and the vehicle. You can submit the form online, by email or regular mail and regardless of your choice, your information is kept confidential.

The Process for Donating a Car

1. The vehicle's title must be transferred to NAVA Fund for the

donation to be legal and to be eligible for tax purposes.
2. NAVA Fund will need the donated car's original title, and getting         a copy is easy. Simply contact your local DMV.
3. In many states, the entire process of obtaining a copy of your               vehicle's title can be done online.
4. All you need is the car's VIN and title numbers. These can both

be found on the vehicle's registration card.
5. When you fill out the title for car donation, be sure to get it right       the first time.

.     Once the paperwork is processed, NAVA Fund will contact you to set up a time to pick up the vehicle. Usually, pick-up can be scheduled within 3 business days. You then meet a NAVA Fund representative at the vehicle’s location at the scheduled pick-up time with the documents and the keys, and NAVA Fund then removes the vehicle. You will then receive a tax receipt, form 1098-C, so you can declare the car donation on your taxes.

The Tax Side of Your Donation

Depending on the kind and condition of your vehicle, the deductions you receive can be quite large. NAVA Fund can offer significant tax deductions on your donated vehicle because we sell the vehicles for profit to build and sell affordable housing. Your tax deductions depend on the condition and type of your vehicle, but regardless of these factors, you can rest assured you will get a very good tax break by donating to NAVA Fund.
If the vehicle you donate is in almost full working condition with only minor repairs necessary, you can deduct the car's fair market value from your taxes. These are vehicles that can be fixed for under $1000 to provide at least 2 years of reliable service (with reasonable maintenance).most cases, these vehicles have fewer than 150,000 miles on them and are 5-10 years old.
Don't despair about donating a car to NAVA if your vehicle is in less than perfect condition. For cars needing greater repairs but are basically in good condition, the organization's technicians will make the necessary repairs. The vehicle is then sold. For these vehicles, the donor can deduct the fair market price from their taxes, minus the estimated cost of repairs.
